جَمالُ رقيقِ الخالِ قد جَاوزَ الحدَّا

أخو هَيَفٍ مالَ النسيمُ به قدّا

The beauty of the soft-cheeked one has surpassed all bounds

The brother of slender palm swayed by the breeze to and fro

جميلٌ رأته الشمسُ فوقَ جَمالِهَا

فهامَت به وجداً وقَبَّلتِ الخَدَّا

Lovely is he whom the sun has seen, atop her splendor

So she became enamored with passion for him, and kissed the cheek
