With your cheek and heavenly gardens and their virtues

Cure the burning passions of your lovers and ease them

And allow the sending of slumber to an eyelid

That has granted its every drowsiness to your eyelids

O you who expose the fragrant branch with a stature

Whose tresses flutter over its bending

And who aims arrows from his eyes

That reached in my admiration to its fortresses

You forgot days in the greenness that were delightful

With the perfection of its joy over its kinds

And gardens of four and the redness of its roses

And the thickets of its rivers and the greenness of its trunks

By Allah a youthful era I spent

In its meadows and by my side its scale

And on the right side a house I substituted

Whose flats the dwarf-palm substituted from its jujube

I presented myself at it on horseback submitting

From the full moon of its sunrise and the edge of its threshing-floor

And I stayed long in contemplating its ruins but

The disheveled did not show affection to me in its homes

And I wish not your father was stingy in answering it

If a house informed him about its people
