المنزلُ أَينَ قَد بَراها الأَينُ
يا سائِقَها إِذا نالَ مِنها البَينُ
Where is the stopping-place? Weariness has worn her away.
O you two who drive her, now that separation has overtaken her!
ذا حثُّكَ والزَّجرُ لها لو تَرَكا
مِنها أَثَراً لأدركتهُ العَينُ
This urging of yours, and the goading directed at her—had the two left
any trace of her, the eye would have discerned it.
