يا راقداً عنِّي في حُبِّهِ
كبِدق مُقرَّحةٌ وجَفنٌ ساهرُ
O you who sleep, heedless of me—in love of him I bear
a wounded liver and a sleepless eye.
أُهجر وَصُدَّ فَمَا جَفاكَ بضائري
مَن لي سَميُّكَ الظَّلامِ مُسَامِرُ
Forsake me and turn away—your coldness cannot harm me;
whom have I? Darkness—your namesake—is my companion through the night.
