I wrote, and in me a yearning for you and an agony,
And a passion that sighs within my ribs.
And I have a heart the longing has kindled its fire,
And an eyelid raining with the tears' showers.
I wish more than longings, passion, and sorrow
That I with the passing breeze could fly.
If only fate would decree for us a reunion
And an easy coming together in joy.
Then we would wake while the days smile with you,
And the branch of meeting you blossoms anew.
