If I am rewarded with a palace
Stronger than loved ones over time
Then how I cried for a homeland
Which became desolate from a long absence
Honor me with passed days
When the rain wet the dry land
Days when the eggs shield me
With jealousy, and the night remains intoxicated
And the branches of trees sway
Like the skirts of robes in rapture
And you see the frontiers as if
Strung with pearls one next to the other
Oh palace where are my loved ones
Who were a helper and treasure to us
We saw in each one’s face
A sun and a full moon
As if they had not risen
From beneath a night of branches in dawn
