وسلافةٍ بُزلت فأبرزَ دَنُّها

ذهباً يرصَّعُ عَسجدا إِبريزا

A loose tooth was pulled, revealing

Gold decorating an ivory tusk

خَبرَ النَّدامى فعلَها فإذا بِهِ

كالمال يرجِع بالذليل عزيزا

The remorseful were informed of her state; behold,

Wealth returns the humbled mighty

فتناهبوها غيرَ شكّ إنهم

وجدوا بها مِلءَ الدِّنان كنوزا

They ransacked her, no doubt, for they

Found her filled to the brim with treasures
