هذا يراعكَ صَيقلُ الشِعرِ

وحجاك مجمع آيهِ الغُرِّ

This inspires you, poetry refines

Its verses gathered, pearls of wisdom shine

وقريضكَ البحرُ الخضمُّ وهل

يعرو النفادُ لآلئَ البحرِ

The sea composes, can its gems ever wane?

Or cease the flow of pearls along its line?

لك كلَّ يومٍ كلُّ قافيةٍ

من كل معنًى شائقٍ بكرِ

Each day you find a rhyme, a verse afresh

With every meaning new, a thought divine

تُجلى فتتلى ثم تُرسلها

فتزفُّ من قُطرٍ الى قُطرِ

Revealed then read aloud, you swiftly send

From drop to drop, the subtle words entwine

ما زلتَ تنفحنا بها غُرراً

وتضمُّها دُرًّا الى دُرِّ

You shower us with gems in every verse

And add each pearl onto the strand sublime

حتى كسوت النظم حليتَهُ

وجعلتَ شعركَ آيةَ العصرِ

Until with form you've clothed the poetry

And made your words the miracle of our time
