يا جهولاً راح يهذي مُعلناً

انَّ ترك الحبّ ادنى للمُنى

O ignorant one who raves, declaring

That leaving love is the path to bliss,

ناصحاً اياي ان انبذَهُ

وأُديم اللهوَ جلباً للهنا

Advising me to cast it aside

And persist in frivolity, seeking joy.

انني والحبُّ شيءٌ واحدٌ

فاذا جزّأتَنا اهلكتَنا

I and love are one thing,

So if you divide us, you destroy us.
