يا سائلي عن منتهى
رتب المعالي والشرف
O you who ask about the utmost
Of ranks of glory and honor
تلك التي من نالها
في قمَّة العليا وقف
Those who have attained them
Stand at the peak of the highest summit
يسمو الخلائق سؤدداً
ويفوز منها بالشغف
People look up to them in awe
And gain their favor eagerly
ان العلوم باسرها
ضُمَّت بصدر المقتطف
All knowledge in its entirety
Is encompassed in the breast of the chosen one
فغدا كصرحٍ حافلٍ
ببديع انواع التحف
Who became like a monument
Filled with all kinds of treasures
وبدا ككنزٍ شاملٍ
اسمى الجواهر والطُرف
And appeared like an inclusive treasure
Of the most sublime gems and jewels
مفتوحةٌ ابوابهُ
للناس مبذول الغرف
Its doors are open
With hospitality extended to all people
من شاءَ بات ومن يشاءُ
اقام حيناً وانصرف
Whoever desires stays the night
And whoever wishes leaves after a while
فيهِ تعلم جاهلٌ
وبهِ تفقه من عرف
An ignorant person learns in it
And a knowledgeable one gains insight
وافاد اصناف العبا
د ذوي الزراعة والحرف
It has benefited all kinds of servants
Farmers, artisans, traders and wealthy leisurely people
وأُولي المتاجر والمنا
جم والتنعم والترف
As well as people of intellect and all who pride themselves
And a person's prestige is commensurate
وكذاك ارباب العرو
ش وكل من بهم انتصف
With the good they did in the past
This good deed surpasses
وجلال قدر المرءِ قا
مَ بقدرِ إحسانٍ سلف
The fine traits of ancestors
Who fell short of some of it
وجميل هذا الفعل فو
ق جميل اعلام السلف
Just as successors failed
It is singular and unmatched
قد قصَّروا عن بعضهِ
طرًّا كما عجز الخلف
In what it offered and made available
A ruling acknowledged by all
فهو الوحيد ولا جدا
ل بما افاض وما اغترف
Who are just and noble
None would deny it except
حكمٌ تقرَّر عند مَن
بالعدل والنُبل اتصف
Those who are misguided and corrupt
So understand, O questioner
هيهات ينكرهُ سوى
من زاغ بغياً وانحرف
If you are not stubborn
That the pride, supremacy
فافقه اذن يا سائلي
ان كنت لستَ من اعتسف
Glory altogether and honor
And lasting mention
ان المفاخر والعلى
والمجد اجمع والشرف
As long as stars shine
Are a necklace around the neck
والذكر يلبث خالداً
ما دام في البدر الكلف
Of the esteemed journal called The Chosen One
عقدٌ بجيد مجلةٍ
غراء تدعى المقتطف
