1. أَيُّها اللائِمي عَلى نكد الدَه

    رِ لِكُلِّ من البَلاءِ نَصيبُ

    O you who blame the troubles of fate

    Each one has a share of tribulation

  2. قَد يُلامُ البَريءُ من غَير ذَنب

    وَتغطى من المَسيءِ الذُنوبُ

    The innocent may be blamed without fault

    While the sins of the guilty are covered

  3. وَيَحولُ الأَحوالُ بِالمَرءِ وَالدَهر

    لَهُ في صُروفِهِ تَقليبُ

    Fate and time change a man's condition

    With ups and downs beyond description
