كل حبّ مصيره اللذّهاب

غير حبّ الشفيع يوم الحساب

Every love is destined to fade away

Except the love of the Intercessor on Judgment Day

ذاك حبّ مصيره لبقاء

وخلودٍ ونعمة وثواب

That is a love destined to remain

With eternity, bliss, and reward

حبّ نبعِ الأسرار مشكاة نور

السحق مفتاح رحمة الوهّاب

The love of the Spring of Secrets is a lantern of light

The Chosen One is the key to the Forgiving Lord's mercy

كوكب المج في سماء الألوهية

قطب الحقيقة الجذّاب

The planet of glory in the sky of Divinity

The pole of truth, the most attractive

موئِلُ المذنبين في موقف الهو

ل إذا ما تأذّنوا بالعذاب

The shelter of sinners when they are

Terrified of torment on the Day of Anguish

كعبةُ القاصدين من كلّ فجٍّ

ما استقلّت دوّاءهٌ بسحاب

The kaaba of seekers from every corner

Its remedies never cease

جاء كالصبح بعد ليل طويل

خائف مظلم الجوانح كاب

He came like the dawn after a long night

Frightened, with dark worries like ashes

فأضاء العقول بالفيصل الص

دق من قوله الكريم الصواب

So he enlightened minds with the separating truth

The words of the Generous and Correct

وهداه الحكيم ينبوعه الوح

ي وأخلاقه الفساح الرحاب

And the Wise guided him, his divine spring

And his noble, spacious manners

في ربيع الشهور جاء ربيعا

لنفوس طويلة الإجداب

In the month of rebirth he came like a rebirth

For souls long suppressed

من أب معرق النجار وأمّ

هي منه في عزّة الأحساب

Born to a fragrant branch from a carpenter father and a glorious mother

The most honorable roots, Khaleel the Loyal

كرما منبتاً فجدّهما الأع

لى الخليل المنعوت بالأواب

They sacrificed themselves for him in his pure youth

Innocent of any harm or shame

وابأهلي فداهما في الصبا الغضّ

بريئَينِ من أذىً أو معاب

They barely stayed on earth

Yearning for home and estranged

لم يقيما في الأرض إلا قليلاً

إذ أقاما على نوىً واغتراب

Else he would have enjoyed the prime of youth

But death in youth is the greatest misfortune

أو يمتّع كلاهما بشباب

أفدح الخطب ميتةٌ في الشباب

My soul yearns for them and for him

When they left him among the bedouins

لهف نفسي عليهما وعليه

حينما خلّفاه في الأتراب

They left him orphaned, poor and lonely

خلّفاه لليتم والفقر والوحدة

طفل الأحلام والآراب

The boy of dreams and mirages

They came to earth like clouds when

أتَيا الأرض كالسحاب إذا ما

وهب الخير وانثنى لغياب

They bring goodness and leave

He was mysteries in his infancy then left

كان سِراًّ باحابه ثم راحا

وهو ما زال آية الأحقاب

While he still symbol of eras

Eternal blessings upon him as a suckling infant

صلوات المدى عليه رضيعا

خشن المستراح غضّ الإهاب

Rough bedding, soft skin

Wetnurses' eyes pitied him due to

تتحاماه أعين الظئر ممّا

شاع من فقره لدى الأعراب

His poverty among nomads

No living father or compassionate mother

لا أبوه حيّ ولا أمه الأي

مِ ذات اليسار والأنشاب

Of status, family, and wealth

No grandparents, uncles

لا ولا جدّه وأعمامه

بعد بأحلاف ثروة واكتساب

After oaths of fortune and livelihood

Greetings to him after years

وسلام عليه بعد سنين

مقفرات كوالح الأنياب

Of grim fates like monsters

His grandfather passed in them so

ما ت فيهم جده فتهاوى

صرح برد وانهد ركن اغتصاب

The fortress fell and the pillar of injustice cracked

And the Chosen One went forth for the best Message

ومضى المصطفى لخير الرسالا

ت يبارى الحياة أيّ غلاب

To transcend life, what a victory!

He would shepherd with little wage

يرتعى الشاء بالقليل من الأج

ر عفيف المنى طهور الثيار

Of good character, pure garments

Content, reassured, smiling

قانع النفس مطمئن الحنايا

قدسي الرضا قرير الرغاب

Sacred acceptance, soft requests

Humor would reach his ears so he would pass by

يبلغ الهزل مسمعيه فيمضى

عن دواعي الهوى مضي الشهاب

Temptations of passion like embers

Some humor kills though little intended

ومن الهزل ما يميت وإن قي

ل بقصد السرور والإطراب

For delight and amusement

By my father a shepherd circling

بأبي راعيا يطيف به الده

رُ غضيض العينين من إعجاب

Big eyes amazed at admiration

Calm spirit, good news makes no pride

ساكن الروح لا تطيش به البشرى

صبوراً على احتمال المصاب

Patience with calamity's test

By my father, suitor of Khadija

بأبي خاطبا خديجة بالأخلا

ق غرّاء كالثنايا العذاب

With ethics like folds of mist

Not with money or status, what are they

لا بمال ولا بجاه فما الما

ل وما الجاه غير لمع سراب

Except mirages of water

And rescued for God in his enlightened cave

ونجّيا للَه في غاره الأنور

والليل قاتم الجلباب

In the darkness of night

Bringing the sunna of darkness with what makes apparent

محييا سنّةَ الظلام بما يلهَ

مُ من نور قلبه المنساب

Secrets of his overflowing light

The universe shines with his humility

يشرق الكون باتبهالاته البي

ض ويهتز للدعاء المجاب

And sways to answered prayers

And around him a people worshipping idols

وحواليه أمة تعبد الصخ

ر وتوفى النذور للأنصاب

Fulfilling vows to statues

Burying daughters fearing disgrace

تئد البنت خشية العار فيهم

وهي في الإرث غير ذات نصاب

Though daughters inherit nothing

Permitting what consciences forbid

ويبيحون ما الضمائر تأبا

ه وعقل الغوِيِّ مثل اليباب

And minds of the vain like waste

And they live like cattle, some sheep shepherd

ويعيشون كالقطيع فبعض

الشاء راع وبعضها كالذئاب

And others like wolves

Goodness wasted protecting them

كل خير مضيّعٌ في حماهم

كلّ حقّ مهدّدٌ باستلاب

Rights threatened with usurpation

Ignorance struck around them a fence

ضرب الجهل حولهم بسياج

من شرور وحيرة واحتراب

Of evils, confusion, and fighting

A people whose minds and lives were made barren

أمّة أقفرت عقولاً وعيشا

فحماها في الأرض غير مهاب

So he protected on earth without fear

And he was among them like Laylatul Qadr in the night

وهو فيهم كليلة القدر في الده

ر وكالنور في الظلام الخابي

And light in darkness

The universe's hope since the beginning and in absence

أمل الكون منذ كان وفي الغيب

وقبل الأكوان دون ارتياب

And before existence without doubt

Singling out God for worship and love

يفرد الحق بالعبادة والحب

حنينا للقادر الغلّاب

Yearning for the Able Subduer

Humbly, the Trustworthy reciting unto him

خاشعا والأمين يتلو عليه

في الحمى القدسي آي خير كتاب

In the inviolable precinct the best Verses

Arise and warn, be patient for God's judgement

قم فأنذر واصبر لحكم الإله

السحق رب العبيد والأرباب

Indeed the Lord of servants and lords

You are just a witness and bearer of good news

إنما أنت شاهد وبشير

وسراج يهدي أولي الألباب

And a lamp guiding the wise

By my father calling to God alone

بأبي داعيا إلى الله فرداً

ثابت العزم كالرواسي الصلاب

Firm resolve like solid pillars

Fearing no harm and harming so forgiving

لا يخاف الأذى ويؤذي فيعفو

ويجازى جفاءهم باقتراب

And repaying their harshness with care

And brightening hearts by words and deeds

وينير القلوب بالقول والفعل

حيّ السؤال عف الجواب

Answering while questioned

And loving the oppressed, giving them

ويحب المستضعفين ويعطى

عطفه للفقير دون حساب

His care without limit

The schemers he meets with calm, clemency

يلتقى الكائديه باللين والحلم

وخفض الجناح والتحباب

Lowered wing, and loving manner

Aspiring to complete what he came

همة أن يتم ما جاء للنا

س به من هداية متاب

With of guidance and good example

So when the Message completes what satisfies

فإذا تمّ للرسالة ما ير

جو فما دن ذاك محض خلاب

That itself is sheer beauty

And guidance is made lofty, its echo spreads

ويتمّ الهدى ويعلو صداه

ويعمّ الإسلام كلّ الرحاب

And Islam fills the plains

And history says this is the one who gathered

ويقول التاريخ هذا الذي جمّ

ل وجه الزمان بعد اكتئاب

Beauty after gloom

Bringing light to existence after darkness

فينير الوجود بعد ظلام

وتقرّ الحياة بعد اضطراب

And life finds peace after chaos

And peace, truth, and justice spread

ويعم السلام والحق والعد

ل وتمحى فوارق الأنساب

Lineages and inequality erased

Earth's creation equal in rights

فبنو الأرض في الحقوق سواء

الرءوس الشمّاءُ كالأذناب

Exalted heads like tails

No favor of an Arab over non except

ليس لليعرُبيّ فضل على الأعج

م إلا بسعيه للمآب

By his efforts for purpose

Without piety the mighty is weak

وبغير التقوى العزيز ذليل

وبها العبد مستعزُّ الجناب

By it the slave gains a glorious side

This is how the Master of Creation lived

هكذا عاش سيد الخلق طرّا

والألى بعده من الأصحاب

And the successors after, his comrades

They protected their faith and opposed corruption

عصموا دينهم وشادوا فسادوا

وأناروا الطريق للأعقاب

And lit the path for progeny

But we who followed them destroyed

وخلفننا من بعدهم فهدمنا

ما أقاموا للمجد من أسباب

What they built of civilization

And separated into groups concerned

وافترقنا إلى طوائف لا تحف

ل إلا بالغنم والأسلاب

Only with loot and captives

Every party by what it has is content

كل حزب بما لديهم قرير

يا لقومي من كثرة الأحزاب

Oh my people, too many groups!

Our illness and cure are at hand

داؤنا الداء والدواء لدينا

في هدى المصطفى ونور الكتاب

In the way of the Chosen and light of the Book

But we sold glory for humiliation

غير أنا بعنا الكرامة بالذلّ

فذقنا المصاب بعد المصاب

So we tasted torment after torment

If God does not watch over a people

وإذا لم يراقب الله قوم

جعل الله سعيهم في تباب

He makes their efforts wander blind

Oh heart, while sins are plenty

إيه يا قلب والذنوب كبار

والنايا كثيرة الأسباب

And intentions many

My life is wasted, what loss

ضاع عمري يا حسرتاه عليه

في فتوني وشقوتي واضطرابي

In my temptations, misery, and chaos

I have not put forth good nor sought God's face

لم أقدم خيرا ولم أبغ وجه الله

فيما أنفقته من شبابي

In what I spent of my youth

No good in my past except

ليس في صفحتي من الخير إلا

أملى في رعاية التواب

My hope in the return of the Relentant

Forgiver of sin, Accepter of penance, Master of grace

غافر الذنب قابل التوبة مولى ال

فضل كهف المحروب والمنتاب

Shelter of the troubled and fatigued

Inspiring me one day realizing my dream

ملهمى يوم لأرجاء رجائي

حين أعطى كما يشاء كتابي

When He gives as He wills, my destiny

If I was bad I am but human

أنا إن كنت قد أسأت فإني

بشرٌ أصل خلقه من تراب

Formed from dust, my origin

I have not committed sins except in my ignorance

ما اقترفت الذنوب إلّا لجهلي

ولحمقى وحيرتي واحتجابي

Foolishness, confusion, and blindness

And that I obeyed my self, made grand

ولأني أطعت نفسي وعظّمت

أماني شيطانها الكذاب

Its devil's dreams

I have returned, O heart, so do not sorrow

ولقد عدت يا فؤاد فلا تأ

س على ما فقدته من طلاب

Over what is lost of my youth

All that escapes us is delusion

كل ما فاتنا متاع غرور

فاصنع الباقيات قبل الذهاب

So build the eternal before departure

And in the Intercessor we have fullest hope

ولنا في الشفيع أقوى رجاء

إن هوت كفّتي لفقر ثوابي

If my good deeds seem too bare

Wander in his valley in humility and humility

طف بواديه في خشوع وذلَ

وتمسّح بأطهر الأعتاب

And wipe with the Holiest Doorstep

Say to the Best of Creation, your love suffices me

قل لخير الأنام حبّك حسبي

يا مناط الآمال يوم المآب

O endpoint of hopes on the Return

Through you I hope closeness

بك أرجو مع الوسيلة قربى

من جناب أكرم به من جناب

To the Most Generous through you

All prophets and the elect

كل من فيه أنبياءٌ ومختا

رون قدما من صفوة الأحباب

Are dear friends of his

My certainty in the Lord of Majesty is certainty

ويقيني بذى الجلال يقيني

فهو سبحانه العليم بما بي

For He knows best all that is within me
