  1. يا من تمرّ بنا الدنيا بأجمعها

    فلا نرى عندها دنيا ولا دينا

    O you who pass by, the whole world passes us by

    So we see neither world nor faith

  2. حبّا لكم إن سلونا كل شاغلة

    ولم نكن عنكمو يوما بسالينا

    For love of you, if asked, every preoccupation

    And we were never distracted from you

  3. وعندكم علمنا والله ثالثنا

    وإن ظلمنا وسمينا مجانينا

    With you is our knowledge and God third between us

    And if we do wrong and are called insane

  4. أنحن نشغل عنكم لا وربكم

    وربنا والذي يعطى المساكينا

    Are we distracted from you? No, by your Lord

    Our Lord who gives to the poor

  5. ويجمع الشمل بين العاشقينا رضا

    منه وحبّاً لمن عاشوا محبّينا

    And brings together the loving hearts in acceptance

    From Him and love for those who lived loving

  6. أبعدكم نعشق الدنيا ونطلبها

    ونحن منكم وإن كنا بعيدينا

    After you, do we love the world and seek it

    When we are from you though far

  7. عهد علينا وإن طال الطريق بنا

    ألّا نرى غيركم في القفر هادينا

    A pact on us, though the road be long for us

    That we see none but you in the empty desert our guide

  8. عهد علينا وإن أكدت وسائلنا

    وغاب في التيه دون القصد حادينا

    A pact on us, though our means fail

    And get lost in the wilderness astray without intent
