الأسدُ في غابها بيقر مصيرها النوق

وف أول القايمه أبكم له لسان ملووق

The lion in its forest roars its fate

While at the top of the line a mute tongue is tied

والشعب مفلوق وصوته في مهجته مخنوق

ولو يسيّر أمور الشعب أحبابه

And the people are split open, their voices choked in their throats

If only their loved ones would take care of the people's affairs

يبات ويصبح سعيد الحال وباله يروق

ألوف من الفلاحين ما يملكوش فدّان

They would sleep and wake up happy and content

Thousands of peasants own no land

وفرد يملك ألوف من مال ومن أطيان

وولاده يتعلموا في الجامعة بالمجّان

While one owns thousands in property and estates

With his children studying at university for free

وابن الفقير ينطرد م المدرسة ويصبع

وإن جه يطالب بحقّه ينسجن في لومان

While the poor's son gets expelled from school and becomes

And if he dares ask for his right, he gets locked up in darkness

والعامل اللي اندفن قبل الممات مغبون

وحالته ما يرضهاش عاقل ولا مجنون

The worker who died before death, wronged

In a condition that would not satisfy a sane or insane mind

لويعيا ساعه يبيع الحله قبل الهون

وإن حب يوم في السنة يجيب للعيال لحمه

If he lived an hour he would sell his wrap before it got cheaper

And if one day a year he brings meat for his kids

معناها إنّه حيصبح بعدها مديون

يا حاكم الشعب لازم تبنى أحكامك

It means he'll end up in debt after that

Oh ruler of the people, you must base your rules

على رضا الشعب واوعى تعيش في أوهامك

أو تفتكر مصر عزبه واحنا خدامك

On the people's satisfaction, and don't live in your illusions

Or think Egypt is your farm and we are your servants

دا الظلم له يوم مسيرَك تنكوي بناره

وتبكى وتنوح على عمرك وأحلامك

Oppression will have its day, your path will burn in its fire

And you'll cry and lament over your life and dreams

يا مالك المالك عدلك تاه في ظلم الناس

الكلب في مصر له خدّام وله حرّاس

Oh owner of owners, your justice is lost in the injustice of people

The dog in Egypt has servants and guards

وابن البلد حقّه ضاع بين النسا والكاس

يا رب قرّب نهاية الظلم واسعدنا

While the people's rights are lost between women and booze

Oh God, bring an end to injustice and make us happy

ويطلع الكلب م الدولة مع الأنجاس

And get the dog out of the government, along with the filth
