لمّا تَبَوَّأَ من فُؤادي مَنزلاً
وغَدا يُسَلِّطُ مُقلَتَيهِ علَيهِ
When you found a home in my heart,
And your glances began to reign over it,
نادَيتهُ مُستَرحماً من زَفرَةٍ
أَفضَت بِأَسرار الضَمير إليهِ
I called out to you, begging mercy from a sigh,
That had poured out the secrets of my soul to you.
رِفقاً بمنزِلكَ الذي تَحتَلُّهُ
يا مَن يُخَرِّبُ بَيتَه بِيَدَيهِ
Gently, in the home you occupy,
O you who destroys his house with his own hands.
