The night, the illness, and the shackles,

And the passion raging within me,

    Unbounded, knowing no limits,

And the confusion of thought when

The clouds and thunder veil its sky,

And the heart's anguish when dusk falls,

    Its provision fire and iron,

And the great procession hurrying on

    With the zealot driver behind,

    Pouring hellfire from his whip

    That sears the skin,

    On a path of annihilation

    Fueled by wood beneath,

    A story of colorful guise

Yet its robe is worn and frayed,

O fate, you bring nothing new,

Will my eyes see anything new?

Tell these nights that I am

    As steadfast as their events,

    That despite all I suffer

Of their bitter pains, I am happy,

It is enough for me and life

That I am its martyr against injustice.
