His beautiful soul brings me joy

And his beauty delights my heart

أحسد فؤادي على حبي

When I see him near me

I envy my heart for its love

ولما يسمع ألحاني

يعطف عليّ ويهواني

And when he hears my melodies

He shows me affection and gentleness

حبيبي مين زي حبيبي

في حسنه ولّا في كلامه

My beloved, who is like my beloved

In his beauty or in his words

رضيت به الدنيا نصيبي

ورضيت بهجره وخصامه

I accepted him as my fate in life

And accepted his abandonment and discord

فرّحني بعد ما بكّاني

And the day he came to me joyfully

He gladdened me after making me cry
