أَشرَق البَدر في سَماء المَراتبْ

فَاِزدَرى في الوَرى بِنُور الكَواكبْ

The full moon rose in the hierarchy of positions

It looked down on the creatures with the light of the planets

وَنَوال السَعيد عمّ جَميع ال

ناس في شَرق مصره وَالمَغارب

And the prosperity of the happy one spread to all

People in the east of his Egypt and the west

وَبنى لِلقِرى بِها كُلَّ دار

درّ فيها عَلى النَزيل سَحائب

And he built in it every house for the villages

In which clouds pour down on the residents

وَبِها بحر برِّه العَذب أَروى

كُل صادٍ مِن أَهلِها وَالأَجانب

And in it a sea of sweet water most generous

To every visitor from its people and foreigners

وَرَأى زِيْوَرَ الأَمين جديراً

بَينَ أَخدانه بحوز المَراتب

And he saw the faithful keeper worthy

Between his two cheeks of positions

فَاصطفاه عَلى الضُيوف وَكيلاً

وَرَواه مِن فَيضه بِالمَواهب

So he chose him over the guests as a deputy

And watered him from his overflowing gifts

وَبثغر الاسكندرية أَضحى

ناظِراً شُكرُه مِن الضَيف واجب

And in the port of Alexandria he became

Thankful for the guest's glances an obligation

حَيث فيهِ بَشاشة لغريب

نازح عن دِياره وَالأَقارب

Where there is cheerfulness for a stranger

Seeking refuge from his home and relatives

وَاِحتِفال بِهِ وَحُسن التفاتٍ

واعتِناء بِشأن ماش وَراكب

And celebrating him, good attention

And caring for the matter of one walking and riding

وَامتثال لأَمر صَدرٍ كَريم

ناطه بَيننا بإكِرام طالب

And compliance with the order of a generous exit

Who charged us with honoring the requesting one

فَلَهُ اللَه مِن نَديم نَجيب

صادق فاضل شَريف المَناقب

May God protect him from a refined, noble

Friend, honest, noble traits

مؤمن محسن صفيٍّ وَفيٍّ

راشد مرشد لَهُ الحَزم صاحب

Faithful benefactor, loyal and faithful

Steadfast guide, with resolve a companion

شاكر حامد تَقيّ نَقيّ

ناصحٌ صالحٌ وفي العفوِ راغب

Grateful praiser, devout and pure

Adviser, reformer and forgiving

كامل عاقل أَمير حليم

لِلمَعالي في دَولة السَعد خاطب

Perfect, wise, forbearing prince

Addressing the glories in the state of happiness

أَثَّل اللَه مَجده بِسَعيد ال

ملك مَولى أَعجامها والأَعارب

May God immortalize his glory with Sa’eed

Ruler of the non-Arabs and Arabs

ما حَباه السُرور بالبشر وَالأُن

س بِمصر وَنال كُل المآرب

Not deprived of happiness among people and intimacy in Egypt and attained all purposes

Or for him might in prosperity he dated

أَو له العز بِالهَنا قال أَرّخ

زِيْوَرٌ زينةُ القُرى لِلمَناصب
