أَرى أَن الغِناء إِذا أَتاهُم

أَرى أَن الغِناء إِذا أَتاهُم

تَحوّل عَنهُم الدين القَويمُ

تَحوّل عَنهُم الدين القَويمُ

I see that, when music comes among them,

The upright faith departs from them,

وَأَلبَسَهُم شِعار الكبر حَتّى

وَأَلبَسَهُم شِعار الكبر حَتّى

يَروا أَن التَواضع لا يديم

يَروا أَن التَواضع لا يديم

And clothes them in the garb of arrogance, until

They come to believe that humility sustains nothing.
