كَتبت بِأَمر دَولتك اعتِماداً

عَلى وَعد وَعَدتَ بِهِ عَريضَهْ

I wrote by order of your state, trusting

A promise you made in an eloquent petition

وَعَهدي أَنها وَصلت وَأَدَّت

بِشُكرك ما عَلَيها مِن فَريضه

And I vowed it reached and accomplished

With your thanks what was its duty

وَحاشى أَنَّها يا صَدر تَبقى

وَأَنتَ طَبيبها الآسي مَريضه

Far be it, Obreast, that it remains

While you, its kind healer, are afflicted

فَبالإنجاز عالجها ليحيا

بِسَعيك أَرض رَوضتها الأَريضه

So by fulfilling it, heal it that it may live

By your effort, the land of its gentle garden
