1. How long must I keep faith with patience, when longing is imperative?

    My lord is one from whom no request is hidden.

  2. Indeed, for a favor from him I have come asking;

    how many conveyances draw near to you, bearing petitions!

  3. You promised a complete outfit and a mount,

    and you are answerable for what you promised me.

  4. Had this come from anyone but you, I would have let it go,

    but I desire the bounty of your two hands.

  5. To abandon hope in one true to his word is impossible,

    and you are a prince who prevails over every aspiration.

  6. My promise has already spread among the people—and I have pledged it;

    so fulfilling it, O peerless man of the age, is incumbent.

  7. Yet I am grateful whether you give or withhold,

    and in every circumstance I watch for fulfillment.

  8. My purpose is neither an outfit nor a mount,

    but to gain an honor—that alone I seek.

  9. So hasten this kindness, O Kaaba of generosity,

    O you through whom gifts have increased and become universal!

  10. For you are a prince descended from a prince, refined,

    forbearing, generous, a guardian of blessings who takes due account.

  11. May mercy from the All-Merciful pour down upon him,

    remaining with him as long as traveler on foot and rider journey,

  12. and as long as the Ancient House is circled and Zamzam visited

    by bondsmen and free, mature men and graybeards.

  13. May you never cease enjoining what is right among the people,

    and forbidding what is wrong—you are the one I address.

  14. And may the hosts of good fortune and glory never cease to serve

    your radiant countenance, as long as any noble soul succeeds.

  15. May you never cease to guide through praiseworthy deeds and acclaim,

    and through gratitude, as long as stars gleam upon the horizon.
