1. يا أَوحَد الدَهر في مجد وَفي شَرَفِ

    وَمُفرَد العَصر في سَعد وَفي تَرَفِ

    O you who are unique in glory and nobility

    And unparalleled in fortune and luxury

  2. وَيا مشيراً بِهِ المالية ابتَهَجَت

    في مَصر وَاِمتازَ بِالإِنصاف في الصحف

    O you whose appointment brought joy

    To Egypt’s treasury and whose equity stands out in the press

  3. لا أَرتَجيك لإِنجاز الَّذي وَعدت

    به معاليك من جاه ومن تحف

    I do not expect you to fulfill what

    Your Excellency promised in status and gifts

  4. فأنت غيث وإن الغيث عادته

    يروي بِلا مَوعد طُول المَدى وَيَفي

    For you are a downpour and it is the downpour’s habit

    To water copiously for a long time without promise or stint

  5. وَلَم تَكُن مِنكَ عَين العَدل نائِمةً

    عَني وَإِن كُنت لِلأَقدار كَالهَدَف

    The eye of justice has not been sleeping in you

    Regarding me, although I was like a target for fates
