  1. أَنا الطَبيب الماهر المَشهورُ

    الأَلمعيّ الشاطر المَشكورُ

    I am the skilled, renowned physician

    The brilliant, clever, appreciated one

  2. ربّ الذكا وَالفهم وَاليَراعه

    وَمَن لَهُ في طبه بَراعه

    Lord of wisdom, understanding and insight

    And the one with great expertise in medicine

  3. ما يَطلبوني لِعلاج الداء

    عِندَ تَعاصيهِ عَن الدَواء

    Whenever they seek me to cure an illness

    When the patient is unresponsive to medication

  4. إِلّا قدمت بِالعَوافي وَالشفا

    لِمَن رَمى بَينَ البَرايا بِالعَفا

    I always provide recovery and healing

    To those who have been afflicted with pardon

  5. فَكَم سَحابة عَلى العُيون

    أَزلتها بِأَحسَن الفُنون

    So I have cleared many clouds in the eyes

    With the best of skills and techniques

  6. وَكَم هَزمت مِن جُيوش لِلوَبا

    بِهمة وَمَهرُ فكري ما كَبا

    And I have defeated so many armies of diseases

    With my determination and excellent mind

  7. وَدودة القرح إِذا عالجتها

    دَقيقة ماتَت وَما راجعتها

    If I treat a worm of ulcer

    It dies immediately and does not return

  8. أَما الجُنون وَالجذام وَالجربْ

    فَإِنَّها في الداء مِن أَدنى الرُتبْ

    As for madness, leprosy, and scabies

    They are the lowest in rank of diseases

  9. وَإِن أَردت فَسَلِ الطاعونا

    عَني تَراه قَد مَضى مَغبونا

    If you want, ask the plague

    About me, you'll find it thoroughly defeated

  10. وَالقيلة المُزمنة اللحميَّهْ

    عالجتها وَفُزت بِالأمنيَّهْ

    I have treated chronic nephritis

    And attained what I wished

  11. وَالآلة البازلة الخَفيفهْ

    حرّكتها بإِصبعي اللَطيفهْ

    I have mobilized the weak sphincter

    With my gentle finger

  12. بِها قَطعت دابر الاستسقا

    وَمَن يُجاريني وَاَنا اِبنُ العنقا

    With it, I have cut off the origin of dropsy

    Who can compete with me, the son of a skilled one?

  13. أَنا الَّذي في الطب لي دَستور

    يَعرفهُ كُل فَتىً مَشهور

    I am the one who has a doctrine in medicine

    Known by every famous young man

  14. من قاسني بِالغَير في الجِراحَهْ

    أَخطا وَقَد بالغ في الوَقاحهْ

    Whoever compares me to others in surgery

    Makes a mistake and is utterly shameless

  15. أَما الحصاة فَأَنا في ثانيهْ

    أَعملها حالاً أَمام شانيهْ

    As for bladder stones, I can instantly

    Perform the operation in front of my rivals

  16. وَشهرتي في باطن الأَمراضِ

    خالية في الكَون عَن أَغراضِ

    And my fame in internal diseases

    Is free of any ulterior motives

  17. وَوَجع الأَضراس وَالصداعُ

    وَالسل وَالرَبو كَذا القراعُ

    Toothache, headache, tuberculosis, and mange

    I have cured them with wisdom and politics

  18. واسيتها بِالحَزم وَالسِياسهْ

    وَفُزت في العِلاج بِالرياسهْ

    And I have succeeded in treatment with excellence

    Now my gratitude has increased in the countries

  19. وَزادَ شُكري الآن في البِلادِ

    وَعرَفتني سائر العِبادِ

    And all people have recognized me

    I am nothing but the prince of medicine

  20. فَما أَنا إِلّا أَمير الطبِّ

    وَالمُرتجى لِكُل داء صَعبِ

    And the one sought for every difficult illness

    I am the one whose every treatment is beneficial

  21. أَنا الَّذي كُل عِلاجي نافعُ

    وَلَيسَ لي في شُهرتي مُنازعُ

    And I have no rival in my fame

    And here is my advice, my friend

  22. وَهَذِهِ نَصيحَتي يا صاحِ

    قَد نشرت في سائر النَواحي

    Which I have circulated in all regions

    Write down its letters in golden water

  23. فَاكتب حُروفَها بِماء الذَهَبِ

    بِالأَرمني وَالفارسي وَالعَربي
