1. بسمت ثُغورُ مَسرةٍ وَأَمانِ

    في مَصر فابتهجت بِنَيل أَماني

    In Egypt smiles blossomed and hopes were fulfilled

    As wishes were attained by the blessed Nile

  2. وَعَزيزُها الصَدر السَعيد محمدٌ

    بِالعَدل أَحياها مَع الإِحسان

    Its glory embodied in the auspicious chest of Muhammad

    Who revived it with justice and benevolence

  3. وَأَمدّها بعساكر موصوفة

    بَثباتها في حومة الميدان

    And reinforced it with disciplined troops

    Steadfast amidst the fury of battle

  4. مِنها السَواري بَينَها بيّادة

    مَرصوصةٌ في الصَف كَالبُنيان

    Among them the gallant Suwaris

    Forming dense lines like solid walls

  5. وَكَذَلك الزرخ الكماة حَليفها

    طوبجيةٌ مِن أَشجَع الشُجعان

    And the valiant Kurjis, its loyal allies

    The bravest warriors upon the lands

  6. وَالأوجيان عَلى الثَرى وَثَباتُهم

    وَثَباتُهم في الحَرب مَشهوران

    The Awujans steadfast on earth

    Renowned for their stance in times of war

  7. وَالزنج في وَسط الجُنود رجالُهم

    لا يَعبئون بحملة الأَقران

    The Zanj amidst the ranks, their men

    Undaunted by facing legions of foes

  8. وَتَرى المُهندس في المَساعي ناجِحاً

    بميامِنِ الصَدر الجَليل الشان

    The engineer succeeds in his endeavors

    With the support of the exalted ruler

  9. وَتَرى الكبورجيّ الشَهير معضَّداً

    في برّها وَالبَحر للأخدان

    The famed Kaburji fortified on land and sea

    Against the enemies' attacks

  10. وَتَرى السَواحل لَم تَزَل مَحفوظةً

    بحماتها مِن طارق الحدثان

    The coasts remain protected

    By his defenses from invading fleets

  11. وَتَرى رِجال الحَرب كُلّاً منهمُ

    لِلرَأي قَبل الإلتحام يعاني

    The men of war, each of them

    Weighs his counsel before engaging in fight

  12. وَالكُل حَول الداوريّ كَأَنَّهُم

    في مصر حصنٌ ثابت الأَركان

    All gathered around the Dawari

    Like pillars supporting a citadel in Egypt

  13. وَلنا بقلعته السَعيدة في الهَنا

    فرح بِمَولده مَدى الأَزمان

    In his auspicious castle we rejoice

    For ages to come at his birth

  14. فرح بمولده الَّذي سادَت بِهِ

    مصر عَلى الأَمصار وَالبُلدان

    For the birth that brought glory to Egypt

    Above all other lands and realms

  15. لا سيما وَقد اِزدَهَت في عامنا

    هَذا بِإحيا سنة الإِيمان

    Especially in this year of ours

    That witnessed the revival of the faith

  16. بختان شبل الداوري طوسن البَها

    مَن صارَ للعَليا كصدرٍ ثاني

    With the circumcision of the cub of Dawari

    He who became like a second chest to the sublime

  17. بختان حضرته الَّذي فيهِ اِغتَنى

    بِالبَذل قاصٍ للأَنام وَداني

    With the circumcision of his eminence

    Who found richness in altruism and humility

  18. وَبِآية نسخت رُسوم مَواسم

    لمحمد بن الظاهر السُلطان

    And with the miracle that abolished

    Muhammad ibn Zahir's rituals and customs

  19. وَنِظامه في الكَون ما سَمعت بِهِ

    أُذُنٌ وَلَم تر مثله العَينان

    And established its system in the universe

    Of which no ear has heard nor eye seen before

  20. فيهِ المَواكب أَصبَحَت في سَيرِها

    مَنظومة تَحكي عُقودَ جمان

    The processions now move rhytmically

    Like well-composed rows of pearls

  21. وَالأَرض مِنها كَالسَماء تَزينت

    بِكَواكب تَزهو مِن التيجان

    The land now adorned like the sky

    With stars sparkling with crowns

  22. وَكَأن بارودَ الفشنك مخاصم

    للجوّ وَهوَ عَلَيهِ كَالغَضبان

    The gunpowder's explosions challenging the air

    Like a raging thunderstorm

  23. فيظل يَرمي وجهه بِصَواعق

    متنوعات الشكل وَالألوان

    Sending a barrage of variable shaped lightning bolts

    The acrobat mediating between them

  24. وَالبهلوان كَأَنَّهُ متوسط

    في الصُلح بَينهُما بِغَير تَواني

    Seeking ceasefire and harmony

    And the regiments of the blessed army arranged

  25. وَكَتائب الجُند السَعيد ترتبت

    فرقاً قَد اِنتَشَرَت بِكُل مَكان

    And deployed all over the vicinity

    Their tents pitched on the widest plain

  26. وَخِيامها ضُربت بِأَوسَع ساحة

    فيها البرية تَحتَ ظل أَمان

    Under the shade of safety

    The cloud of the emancipated chest hovered high

  27. وَسَحابة الصَدر المفدّى بَينَها

    تَسمو بِبَهجتها عَلى الإِيوان

    Above the rest on the pavilion

    In front, the music master's voice rose high

  28. وَأَمامَها صَوت المُوَيَسِّيقي عَلا

    وَتَناغَت الآلاتُ بِالأَلحان

    And the instruments sang harmoniously

    The oud, the qanun, and the melodious rebab

  29. وَالعُودُ وَالقانونُ وَالرقُّ البَهي

    كُلٌّ أَجاب بِأَبدَع الأَوزان

    Each responding with the finest rhythms

    The grandees and the scholars all vied

  30. وَأَكابر الأُمَراء وَالعُلَما سَعوا

    لِأَداءِ تَشريفٍ بِيَوم تَهاني

    To fulfill the duties of a celebration

    Elevating their status and taking pride

  31. فَعَلا بِذَلِك قَدرُهُم وَتَفاخَروا

    بِمَناصب أَربَت عَلى كِيوان

    In positions gracing the throne

    And praying to Almighty God

  32. وَتضرّعوا لِلّه جَل جَلاله

    بِبَقاء حضرة ناصر الأَوطان

    For the survival of the patron of nations

    And the lasting of this cub, the apple of his eye

  33. وَبقاء هَذا الشبل قرّة عَينه

    وَسَميره في الفَضل وَالعرفان

    His companion in virtue and knowledge

    The loyal kept kindling their thoughts for you

  34. ما باتَ ذو الإِخلاص يَقدح فكره

    لَكَ يا مُؤيد في اِنتِقاء مَعاني

    Seeking the most meaningful expressions

    And the next day congratulated you on the circumcision

  35. وَغَدا يُهنِّئ بِالختان مؤرِخاً

    طوسن أَبوه أَعَزَّه بختان

    Of Tusun, his father honored him with khetan
