زَمَن العَزيز إِلى السُعود يُشيرُ

وَسُروره للعالمين بَشيرُ

The time of the beloved points to fortune

And his joy is a harbinger for all people

وَسَماء مَصر تَزينت بِكَواكب

لِلناظرين كَأَنهن بُدور

The sky of Egypt is adorned with stars

For onlookers as if they are full moons

وَالأَرض مِن نَظم الكَواكب أَصبَحت

مِنها إِلى الأَفلاك يَسعى نُور

And the earth from the stars' arrangement became

From it to the cosmos the light strives

وَرِياضَها مِنها تَفوح رَوائح

ندِّيَّةٌ سَمحت بِهنّ زُهور

And its meadows from it fragrances spread

Refreshing allowed by them the flowers

وَنَسيم برّ الداوريّ سَرى بِما

فَوقَ الرضا مِنهُ فَطابَ مَسير

And the breeze of the virtuous blew with what

Above approval from it the travel improved

وَالبشر أَضحى في مَجال رَشاده

بِجَواده بَينَ الأَنام يَدور

And people became under his guidance

With his generosity between people circling

وَالسَعد أَقسم أَن يَكون مُقَيداً

بِختان نجل للفلاح يَسير

And fortune swore it will remain tied

To the loins of the farmer's boy easy

طوسن المَعالي شبل أَكرَم مالك

في مَصر عزّ بِهِ وَجلّ سَرير

The heights of grandeur a cub honorable owner

In Egypt mighty by it and the throne glorious

وَبِهِ السَفائن وَالجِياد تَفاخَرَت

وَلعمره هُوَ بِالفَخار جَدير

And by it the ships and steeds took pride

By its life it is with pride worthy

هُوَ لا يُجارى في أَمور عدّة

ما حازَها يَوماً سِواه وَزير

It cannot be matched in many matters

What a day earned another minister

هُوَ في النَدى غَيث وَأَما باسه

في برّها وَالبَحر فَهوَ شَهير

It is in soft rain a downpour and as for its heroism

On land and sea so it is famous

هُوَ في البَراعة وَالمَقال مجرّب

هو بِالعُلوم وَبِاللُغات خَبير

It is in skill and speech seasoned

It is with knowledge and languages experienced

فَاللَه يَحفظه وَيَحفَظ نَجله

ما لاحَ بَرق أَو أَضاء مُنير

So God protects it and protects its son

As long as lightening shone or illuminator illuminated

أَو ما تَلا أَفراحه في مَصره

نَصر وَفَتح دائم وَسُرور

Or its joys in his Egypt continued

Victory and openings permanent and bliss

أَو ما تَعشَّق في نِظام جُيوشه

راءٍ لها في الصَف وَهيَ تَمور

Or it admired in the system of its armies

Pleasing to it in the row and they bustle

أَو ما إِلى التَشريف أَقبَل مُسرِعاً

في كُل عام عالمٌ وَأَمير

Or what to the pilgrimage came rushing

Every year a scholar or prince

أَو ما سَعيد العَصر في زَمَن الصَفا

وَالأُنس مِنهُ بَدا وَعَمّ سُرور

Or happy time in the era of clarity

And company from it appeared and covered bliss

أَو ما تَكلم في نَجابة شبله

مُتَكلم في المَهد وَهوَ صَغير

Or it spoke of the intelligence of its cub

While in the cradle it being junior

أَو ما تَباهى بِالفَضائل مِثلَه

ملكٌ سَعيد لِلعَلاء سَمير

Or it boasted of virtues the like of it

A happy king for the sublime a confidant

أَو ما تَرنم في الوَرى بِمَديحه

عَبد عَلى طُول الزَمان شَكور

Or it hummed in the world with praising it

A servant for the length of time grateful

أَو ما غَدا يَوم ا لخِتان مُؤرِّخاً

طوسن بِهِ نجم السُرور مُشير

Or it became the day of circumcision chronicled

With it the star of bliss indicating
