بَسمت بمقدم سؤدد وَمبرّةِ

لركابك العالي ثَغور مَسرّةِ

With a smile you were welcomed, oh you of high ambition and benevolence

For Egypt, her spirit has returned upon your arrival

وَلمصر عادَت رُوحُها عِندَ اللقا

وَاِستأنست بِكَ يا سَعيد الدَولة

And she was comforted by you, oh Sa'eed al-Dawla

She rejoiced when you came giving victory

وَاِستَبشَرَت لَما أَتيت مُؤيداً

بِالنَصر وَالإِقبال ذات الرفعة

and favor, you of high stature

The days have cleared for it with your return spreading

وَصفا الزَمان لَهُ بعودك ناشِراً

علم الفَخار متوّجاً بِالهيبة

The flag of pride crowned with awe

You remain thanked for your successful efforts

لا زلت مَشكور المَساعي ظافِراً

طُول المَدى بِإِقامة وَبرحلة

Throughout the long stretch, residing and traveling

Boasting among kings with intellect

مُتباهياً بَين المُلوك بِفطنة

لمحمد طوسون رفيع الهمة

For Muhammad Tusun, lofty of resolve

Never has Istanbul shone from a visit

ما أَشرَقَت إِستانةٌ بِزيارة

صَدرت بإِخلاص وَحُسن طَوية

That came with sincerity and goodness of intent

Or greeted you with whatever you wish of praise

أَو قابلتك بِما تَشاء مِن الثَنا

وَالشُكر ألسنةٌ عقيب الأَوبة

And gratitude tongues after obedience

Nor has Majdi said upon return chronicling

أَو قال مَجدي في الإِياب مُؤرخاً

لَكَ يا سَعيد بمصر أَكرم عودة

For you oh Sa'eed in Egypt the most gracious return
