سل أَضلَّ اللَه سَعيَكُمُ

كَم تَركنون إِلى تَمويه غدّارِ

Ask those whom Allah has led astray,

How much they leave for misleading tomorrow's dawn.

رَمى بِلادَكُمُ في قُعر هاوية

مِن الدُيون عَلى مَرغوب حوسيار

Your countries are thrown into the depths of an abyss,

Of debts for the sake of a covetous scoundrel.

وَأَنفق المال لا بُخلاً وَلا كَرَماً

عَلى بَغيٍّ وَقوّادٍ وَأَشرار

And money is spent neither stingily nor generously,

On wickedness, pimps and evildoers.

وَالمَرء يَقنَع في الدُنيا بِواحِدَة

مِن النسا وَهوَ لَم يَقنَع بمليار

And man is satisfied in this life with one,

Woman while he is not satisfied with a million.

وَيَكتفي بِبناء واحد وَلَه

تسعون قصر بِأَخشاب وَأَحجار

And is content with building one, while he has

Ninety palaces of wood and stone.

فَاستيقظوا لا أَقال اللَه عثرتَكم

مِن غَفلة أَلبستكم مَلبسَ العار

So wake up, lest Allah remove your stumbling,

From the heedlessness that clothed you in garments of shame.
