قُدوم مَليك العَصر في مَصر بِالمُنى

كَساها مِن الإقبال أَبهَجَ حلةِ

The arrival of the era’s angel in Egypt, of wish

Has clothed it in fortune-glory, a gleeful robe.

وَحلَّى سَماها في التَهاني بزينةٍ

أَضاءَت بِها أَرجاء أَشرَف دُولة

And adorned its name among the congratulations with an ornament

That illuminated the corners of the most noble state.
