غازَلتُه وَبِكَفِّه تُفّاحةٌ

مَنقولَةٌ مِن خَدِّهِ لِبَنانِهِ

I kissed his palm where an apple lay

Taken from his cheek to his Lebanon

يَرمِي بِهَا مِن كَفِّه في صَدرِهِ

لِيُضيفَ تُفّاحاً إِلَى رُمَانِهِ

He threw it from his palm to his chest

To add an apple to his pomegranate
