1. تَأَمَّل عَلَى مَجرى المِياهِ حُلَى الزَّهرِ

    كَعَهدِكَ بِالخَضراءِ وَالأَنجُمِ الزُّهرِ

    Gaze upon the water's flow, adorned with petals

    As your covenant with the verdure and stars of flowers

  2. وَقَد ضَحِكَت لِلياسَمينِ مَباسِمٌ

    سُروراً بِآدابِ الوَزيرِ أَبِي بَكرِ

    The jasmine has smiled with delight

    In the minister Abu Bakr’s etiquette and honor

  3. وَأَصغَت مِنَ الآسِ النَضيرِ مَسامِعٌ

    لِتَسمَعَ ما يَتلوهُ مِن سُوَرِ الشِّعرِ

    Ears inclined from the tall, slender tree

    To hear him recite verses of poetry
