كَأَنَّها دَلوُ بِئْرٍ جَدَّ ماتِحُها
حَتَّى إِذَا ما رَآها خانَهُ الكَرَبُ
As if it were a bucket in a well long gone dry
Until when he saw it, distress deluded him,
حَتَّى إِذَا مَعْمَعانُ الصَيْفِ هَبَّ لهُ
بِأَجَّةٍ نَشَّ عَنْها الماءُ وَالرُطُبُ
Until when summer's heat waves blew for him,
With clouds that shed over it water and blessings.
