In Baalbek is the garden of dreams
I always prefer it
Oh, what a peerless garden
Its eyes flow freely
Its waters like purified honey
Describing it in poetry does not do justice
Its breezes heal the ailing
With unparalleled remedy
Its trees provide shade without blame
From the heat of the sun every day
Its food would truly satisfy
If its chef perfected the skill
For he can make it colorful
Except he counts tricks as arts
So its fat turns to crows
And its cream tastes like sour milk
When he mistakes fat for the taste of death
And sees no frying except with oil
Nothing equals fat in cooking
When flavor flows for the connoisseurs
And oil, if cheap in price
Has a taste like aloe
But if he loves thriftiness
To profit the owner indeed
Then the desired hotel, no matter how expensive
Good cooking is the priority
