Each day the separations bring defamation

Neither living in anguish, nor your anguish lasts

أمدى الحياة تجرّم وتعتب

فمتى البراءة والرضى ووصالك

Life accuses and condemns endlessly

When will innocence, contentment and union come?

لك دولة ملكت عقول ذوي النهى

فليسم ملكك وليعز جمالك

You have a kingdom that rules wise minds

May your rule be firm and your beauty exalted

لا ينتهي في العشق بي زمن كما

قد فات حسن العالمين مثالك

No time limits love in me, as has passed

The beauty of the two worlds you exemplified

لك طاعتي فتحكمي وتأمري

فلقد أطيع لما يشير خيالك

I obey you, so command me as you desire

For I obey what your imagination indicates

ان كان عدلك يستبيح منيتي

فلقد رضيت بها ولست إخالك

If your justice makes lawful my craving

Then I accept it, and do not oppose you

أوشئتني سهما يا فئدة العدى

كنت المصيب وقد حكنه نبالك

If you want me as an arrow, O heart of the enemy

I would hit the target, flexed by your bow

أو شئتني سحرا بالباب الورى

جاريت ما جرته بي افعالك

Or if you want me as a spell at the righteous door

I would flow as your deeds have made me flow

أو شئتني غصنا يحركه الهوى

فلقد أرى وكما تحب خلالك

Or if you want me as a branch stirred by passion

Indeed I see as you wish in your manifestations

أو رمت أن أدو فاطوع عابد

أو شئت هجرا قلت جل جلالك

Or if you want me to obey like a devout worshipper

Or you want separation, I say "Glorious is He"
