  1. أنا وحقّ ولائك وعهد وفائك

    ما خنت ذاك الودّ والغراما

  3. يرى الولا لغيركم حراما

    وقد جعلته لكم مقاما

    Deeming love for others unlawful,

    And making you its sole aspiration.

  4. حللتمون الشهر والأعواما

    يراكم اليقظة والمناما

    You have filled my months and years,

    Awake, you are in sight; asleep, you are my dream,

  5. والقصد والبغية والمراما

    وهو بغير فضلكم ما هاما

    My every goal, desire and wish.

    Without your grace, it wanders not elsewhere,

  6. وعن سوى حبّكم قد صاما

    فقصّروا العتاب والملاما

    Nor, save for love of you, has it ever fasted.

    So cease your blame and reproaches,

  7. وادفعوا الظنون والأوهاما

    يا أوحداً وفاضلاً همّاما

    Dispel your doubts and suspicions.

    O peerless and noble one of lofty aspirations!
