1. نقل الطرف في ربوع الأمان

    أينما شئت فهي بعض الجنان

    The eye roams in the meadows of security

    Wherever it wishes, it is a part of paradise

  2. بين عين الصفا وعين زحلنا

    منظر عز وصفه بلسان

    Between the eye of As-Safa and the eye of Zahalna

    A scene of glory, its description is beyond words

  3. بقعة صاغت الطبيعةفيها

    آية الحسن فتنة الازمان

    A spot where nature has forged

    A verse of beauty, seduction of time

  4. برزت للعيان عارية من

    كل ثوب من صنع هذا الإنسان

    It emerged bare before the eye

    Of any garment made by man

  5. فجبال تلت جبالا تلتها

    غيرها كالغيوم في نيسان

    Mountains succeeding mountains succeeded

    By others like clouds in April

  6. وجبال علت جبالا كأن ال

    رأس منها في مطلع الدبران

    And mountains towering mountains as if

    Their heads were in the rise of the tail

  7. طرزتها يد الطبيعة بالاش

    جار تخفي الاحجار بالاغصان

    Embroidered by nature's hand with trees

    That hide the rocks with branches

  8. وكستها منها ثياب جمال

    ليس تبلى بطارق الحدثان

    And clothed it with dresses of beauty

    Unfading by the passage of time

  9. رصعت مثلما ترصع تاج

    بقرى قد حكت عقود جمان

    Adorned like a crown encrusted

    With villages that have woven necklaces of pearls

  10. بعضها عند قمة وسواها

    عند سفح والبعض في الكثبان

    Some at the summit and others

    At the foot and some in the dunes

  11. جلها قد حوى قصورا لها أو

    فر حظ من محكم البنيان

    Most of which contained castles for them or

    A share of solid construction

  12. خندققوا القصر بالحديقة والما

    ء لديهم يجري بكل مكان

    They dug moats around the castle and garden, and water

    Flows everywhere for them

  13. غابة من صنوبر أثر غاب

    كخيام مخضرة الالوان

    A forest of pine, the effect of which makes

    Green tents of diverse colors

  14. قائمات اشجارها كجنود

    في ثغور البلاد يوم طعان

    Its trees like soldiers

    In the borders of the country on a day of spears

  15. ظلها وارف فلا تنفذ الشم

    س إذا لم تدق كالخيطان

    Its shade is ample so the sun cannot penetrate

    Unless it seeps through like threads

  16. حجبت عن رؤسنا شمس تمو

    ز فبتنا من حرها في أان

    It concealed from our heads the annoying sun

    So we were spared its heat for a while

  17. ربما غابة أباحت لنور ال

    بدر وصلا من ابدع الطيقان

    Perhaps the forest allowed the light

    Of the moon and prayers of the most excellent supplication

  18. وسرت في غصونها نسمات

    روحت باعتلالها كل وان

    And breezes blew through its branches

    Which revived its languor, however itinclined

  19. ثم نقل خطاك في وادي العي

    نين وانظر مسارح الغزلان

    Then your steps moved in the valley of the two springs, and look

    At the wildlife playgrounds of the gazelles

  20. كل روض حكى بساطا انيقا

    احكمت وشيه صناع القيان

    Each meadow recounted an elegant carpet

    Perfectly crafted by the makers of arrows

  21. ومروج يسيل فيها لجين

    دفقته عينان نضاختان

    And meadows in which a torrent flows

    From two gushing springs

  22. نحن في هذه الربوع نرى السا

    عات تمضي كما تمر الثواني

    Pass as quickly as moments

    We pick the grapes early, and enjoy them

  23. نقطف الكرم باكرا نجتليها

    وهي بكر على عتيق الدنان

    While they are still flower-scented

    Each vat pours wine so copiously

  24. كل دن يصب فيه حتيت ال

    در حتى يظن في غليان

    You'd think it was boiling

    Or it is melted snow or hail

  25. أو هو الثلج ذائب أو هو الكو

    ثر يجري في حوض هذي الجنان

    Flowing in the basin of these gardens

    When the knot of every loved one was tied

  26. فإذا تم عقد كل حباب

    نثر الحب عن مثيل الجمان

    Love was sprinkled over the beautiful ones

    We collected and pressed wine

  27. فالتقطناه واعتصرنان خمرا

    سال تحت الاضراس فوق اللسان

    That flowed under the molars over the tongue

    It is like melted honey in which

  28. هو كالشهد ذائب مزج العن

    بر فيه فما خمور القناني

    Amber is mixed, not like tavern wines

    The pleasure of a thing is properly perceiving

  29. لذة الشيء حسن ادراك ما في

    ه وأين الادراك من سكران

    What is in it, and where is perception from the intoxicated?

    If a gentleman invites you to drunkenness, know

  30. ان دعاك امروء إلى السكر فاعلم

    انها دعوة إلى الخسران

    That it is an invitation to loss

    So wake at dawn, look

  31. فاصح واقبل حوالي الفجر وانظر

    من رفيع الاجيال هذي المغاني

    At the most exalted of generations, these songs

    Meet above what I have described, and where is

  32. تلق فوق الذي وصفت وأين ال

    وصف شعرا من واضح للعيان

    Description in poetry from what is clear to the eye?

    And when the gazelle inclines toward the Lord

  33. وإذا مالت الغزالة نحو ال

    رب فالحسن في اتم المعاني

    Beauty is in the most perfect meanings

    Some of these mountains wear a dress of shade

  34. بعض هذيالجبال يلبس ثوب ال

    ظل واللون منه لون دخان

    Whose color is the color of smoke

    While others are clad in the yellowness

  35. وسواها وقد علاها اصفرار ال

    سمس لون الخريف قبل الأوان

    Of the brilliant sun before its time

    Others are dressed in the shining twilight

  36. وسواها اكتسى من الشفق البا

    هر لون المودع الحيران

    The color of the bewildered farewell

    Or it is dawn and darkness that lingered

  37. أو هو الفجر والظلام اقاما

    ساعة في الجبال يصطرعان

    An hour in the mountains, wrestling

    Then the king of the night ascends with his army

  38. ثم يعلو بجيشه ملك اللي

    ل مدلا بفوزه في الرهان

    Triumphant in his wager

    Each day for us is a feast

  39. كل يوم لنا من الأنس عيد

    كل وقت من المسرات دان

    Every time is one of pleasures

    Man is only buried with his anxieties

  40. انما المرء بالمحموم دفين

    وهو حي إن ينسها كل آن

    And he is alive if he forgets them at all times
