When will you come to us, complete us in our homes
You will find ample firewood and a raging fire
And an unpleasant dwelling, O Ibn Al-Zubayr
I prepared it late at night with packed saddlebags
For sincere young warriors, atop thoroughbred steeds as though
They were swords polished by Al-Masikhi and sharpened
When they emerge from darkness, they return to it
With their swords and stabbing until they find relief
