مَوقِعُ الخَيلِ مِن نَداكَ طَفيفُ

وَلَوَ أَنَّ الجِيادَ فيها أُلوفُ

The horses' place is close to your call

The giving of horses is a trifle within your bounty,

Even if there were thousands of steeds

Even if the thoroughbreds numbered in the thousands.

وَمِنَ اللَفظِ لَفظَةٌ تَجمَعُ الوَص

فَ وَذاكَ المُطَهَّمُ المَعروفُ

And of speech, there is a word that combines beauty

And among words, there is one that gathers all description,

That polished and well-known one

And that is the perfect, celebrated charger.

مالَنا في النَدى عَلَيكَ اِختِيارٌ

كُلُّ ما يَمنَحُ الشَريفُ شَريفُ

We have no choice with you in generosity

We have no right to choose from your generosity,

All that the noble one grants is noble

For everything the noble one bestows is noble.
