Qudha'ah knows that I am the youth
The tribe of Quda'a knows well that I am the youth,
Who stored for the vicissitudes of time
Whom they have hoarded for the vicissitudes of Time.
And my glory shows the Banu Khindif
And my glory demonstrates to the sons of Khindif,
That every generous one is from Yemen
That every truly noble man is of Yemenite line.
I am the son of encounter, I am the son of generosity
I am the son of the Encounter, I am the son of Bounty,
I am the son of striking, I am the son of stabbing
I am the son of the Strike, I am the son of the Thrust.
I am the son of deserts, I am the son of verses
I am the son of the Wastelands, I am the son of Verses,
I am the son of saddles, I am the son of riders
I am the son of the Saddle, I am the son of the Peaks.
Long spear, long pillar
Long is my sword-belt, high is my tent-pole,
Long spear shaft, long blade
Long is my spear-shaft, long is its piercing point.
Iron clad, iron protector
Sharp is my glance, sharp is my defense,
Iron sword, iron wings
Sharp is my blade, and sharp is my resolve.
My sword races the death of men toward them
My sword races against the dooms of men,
As if they were in a race
Rushing toward them as if the two were wagering.
It sees the essence of timid hearts
Its edge perceives the secrets hidden in hearts,
When I am in a rage and I cannot see myself
Even amidst the battle-dust where I cannot see myself.
I will make it the judge over souls
I shall make it the supreme judge over souls,
Even if my tongue falls short, it is enough for me
Though were my tongue to take its place, it would suffice me.
