Muhammad ibn Zuriq, we see no one
O Muhammad bin Zurayq, we see not a single soul,
If we lose you, who gives before asking
Who, were you lost to us, would give before he promised.
I have come to you, though the journey nears its end
I have sought you out as the time of departure draws near,
The house is spacious, but provisions are spent
With my home far distant and my provisions consumed.
So open your hand, let bounty rain down
So let your hand pour forth, but restrain its heavy rain
When I've had my fill, else it will drown the land
Once I am sufficed—or else it will drown the land.
