You gifted the best of men an arrow into my heart
May I be your ransom, O surest of archers to my heart,
And I would kill them for the unarmed with no war
Most lethal to the armored knights without a single war.
Passion dominated its people with judgments
Passion holds sole dominion in its judgments o'er its kin,
So you are beautiful in ancestry and good at lying
So you are fair in broken vows, and beautiful in lies.
And I am prevented from fighting in battle
For though my vital spots are guarded in the heat of battle,
And if I am given over to fighting in love
I leave them defenseless and exposed when in the throes of love.
And your eyes were created between their lids
And he within whose eyelids those eyes of yours were formed,
They attained the sublime heights in the difficult ascent
Has found the rugged, steep ascent as easy as a slope.
