Is there a home more deserving to be called blessed,
The house most truly deserving of the title 'Blessed',
Than a blessed home of the king who lives in it,
Is the home made blessed by the King residing therein.
And which home is more deserving to prosper through its dweller,
And the house most worthy of rain for its dweller's sake,
Than a home whose people tomorrow will beg from its inhabitants.
Is a house whose own folk the people beseech for rain.
So whoever passes the first one, says goodbye to it,
These are your new mansions—we offer them our joy,
When you settle in a place after its master,
While he who passes your former home must offer it solace.
You made those after it long for it.
When you settle in a place another held before you,
No mind denies a home that has in it,
You grant it a haughty pride over all it was before.
Your scent is a spirit in its melodies,
One cannot deny intellect to a house wherein you dwell,
Your good fortune is complete, for whoever meets you first,
For your essence breathes a living soul into its courts.
And none recovered a life given by you.
May He who granted you the start of fortune complete your bliss,
And may the Bestower of your life never seek to take it back.
