The wine of your words intoxicated me, though their taste
Your words to me, "By my right," served me wine,
Was unique, unlike any love I've known.
And an affection you did not taint for me with dilution.
Had you but sworn a false oath to take my life,
A solemn oath—had you sworn it while far away
I'd have offered up my neck beneath your blade.
To command my death, I would have severed my own neck.
