1. I have prepared swords for the treacherous,

with which I lop off their noses.

  2. May God have no mercy on their heads,

from whose crowns the swords sent skullcaps flying.

  3. The sword resents nothing but their small number,

and wishes their hundreds were thousands.

  4. O vilest flesh, which I robbed of blood

and which visited the bellies of limping hyenas!

  5. You had already been spared the need to inquire about me

of those who roused birds for me and those who read their omens.

  6. I promised this blade whoever crossed its path,

and when you stood in its way, I feared breaking my promise.

  7. No good is spoken of when you are mentioned, nor

do the eyes send tears streaming after you.

  8. If a man startles me with his treachery,

I bring him to the end he feared.
