We have drunk our fill, O magnanimous son of Askar,
We have narrated, O son of the brave leader,
We are fully quenched, O Ibn Askar the gallant,
And your generosity has left no burning thirst in us.
And your call did not leave behind for us any despair,
Your dew has left within us no lingering thirst.
And the dearest thing you offer us has become,
And the most beloved of what you give to us,
Now the most beloved token you could present,
Not out of dislike, your farewell and parting greeting.
Other than bidding you farewell and peace,
—Not from disdain—is your parting and peace.
And we have not tired of your care for your retainers,
And we did not get bored of checking up on you, the loyal ones,
We have not grown weary of your care for your guests,
Nor have we disparaged your great favors.
Nor did we become sick of your generous hands,
Nor do we disparage your immense favors.
But when rains come in succession
But rather, when abundant rain continues
But when the life-giving rains fall in endless succession
Over the land where a traveler is, he comes to hate staying.
In the land of a traveler, he dislikes staying.
Upon a traveler's land, he detests the delay.
