O possessor of lofty honors and wellspring of refinement,
O you of high morals and the source of courtesy
O possessor of high glories and refinement’s mine,
Our master and son of the master of the Arabs,
Our master and son of the master of all Arabs
Our master, and son of the noblest Arab line,
You are versed in every baffling matter;
You are knowledgeable about every miracle
You are the knower of every wondrous mystery,
And had we asked anyone but you, he would not have answered.
And if we asked other than you, they would not respond
And had we asked another, silent he would be,
Did this one meet you dancing,
Is this your reception, dancing?
Did she come before you in a dancing display,
Or did she raise her leg out of weariness?
Or has she raised her leg out of fatigue?
Or did she lift her leg from the toil of the day?
