O you, through whom I have seen the forbearing man a knave,
O you whom I saw the forbearing one and tomorrow
O you, through whom I saw the prudent turn a fool,
And the freeborn among kings a slave.
He became with it and the heat of kings a servant
And the free-born king become a slave,
The wine has weighed very heavily upon me,
The drink leaned towards me seriously
The wine has truly weighed heavily upon me,
And you are better versed in noble deeds.
While you are with favors more guiding
And you are the surest guide to noble deeds,
So if you graciously let me depart,
So if you dignify with my departure
So if you would graciously grant my departure,
I would count it a gift from you.
I will count it from you a gain
I shall count it a bounty from your hand.
