This land has no need of what came to it yesterday,
The land he comes to is singing with joy,
This land was rich enough without what fell yesterday,
while other land was in need of rain.
While others were in need of rain.
While other grounds were truly destitute for rain.
Its first shower tore the vegetation from the garden,
Vegetation splits open from the downpour,
The freshness burst the garden's vegetation forth,
greeting its neighbor, the playing field, with trees.
Bringing life to the meadow with trees.
Saluting its neighbor, the playing-field, with trees.
As though polo mallets had rained down upon it,
As if hailed upon,
It seemed as if the sky rained polo mallets down,
flinging lote trees into it in place of balls.
Casting lote-trees in place of thorns.
Casting the lotus-fruit into the place of balls.
