ويا قلب تشتاق من تشتهيه

وأنت لديه فكيف جفاك

And O a heart that longs for the one you desire

While you are with him so how did he abandon you

ويا سقم مالك فارقت جسمي

أظنك لم تلق فيه قراك

And O an illness why did you leave my body

I think you did not find rest in it

ويا ملكاً في بديع الصفات

أناشدك العدل في مصطفاك

And O a king in the unique qualities

I adjure you by justice towards your chosen one

جرى بشقائي عليك القضاء

فلا تجعلن الجفا من قضاك

The decree has passed with my misery upon you

So do not let estrangement be your decree

هواك برى ما ترى من عظامي

فيا بدر سبحان من قد براك

فدتك النفوس ومن لي بنفس

إذا بخل الناس كانت فداك

فأطرق رأسي لئلا أراك

So I bow my head lest I see you

And I turn away from you lest it be said

وأعرض عنك لئلا يقال

فلان له غرض في هواك

وشوقي عظيم ولكن نفسي

تسوم بكل عظيم رضاك
