1. والذي سوّاك لا أه

    وى من الدنيا سواك

    He who created you, I do not love anyone but you

    My heart has forbidden sharing you with anyone else

  2. إن قلبي حرّم الاش

    راك في دين هواك

    I wish I knew, O most precious of all people - may all people sacrifice themselves for you

    What has made you so aloof and indifferent towards me

  3. ليت شعري يا أعزّ ال

    ناس والناس فداك

    The night keeps watch, whenever yearning for you keeps it awake

    It respects the absence of the full moon, even though it is its brother

  4. ما الذي رابك من صب

    بٍ مصاب بجفاك

    My gentle words have melted away into your refined meanings

    And your branch of thought has reached the lips of my poem

  5. يرصد الليل إذا ما

    ساقه شوق لقاك

    O you who calls to harmony, leave those who do not respond

    Do not ask me how I am, between a slanderer and a guard

  6. ويراعي غيبة البد

    ر وإن كان أخاك

    I do not complain of misery, except to the doctor

    Love dwelt in my heart, before the creation of mankind

  7. ذاب من رقة قولي

    في معانيك الأديب

    So forgive me, O virtuous one, this was not of my own choosing

    And turn your poetry away from the prohibition of the righteous

  8. وعلا غصنك فكري

    قاب بالثغر خطيب

    And be conscious of God, do not spread it in this depressed market

    O cupbearer of wine, with glances and cups

  9. أيها الداعي إلى السل

    وان دع من لا يجيب

    Do not pretend with me, my intoxication is with you, not henbane

  10. لا تسلني كيف حالي

    بين واشٍ ورقيب

  11. أنا لا أهتف بالشك

    وى إلى غير الطبيب

  12. سكن الحب فؤادي

    قبل تكوين العباد

  13. فاعذروني يا عذولي

    ليس أمري من مرادي

  14. وأدر راحة شعري

    عن نهى أهل الرشاد

  15. واتق الله ولا

    تنشره في سوق الكساد

  16. أيها الساقي الندامى

    بلحاظ وكؤوس

  17. لا تغالطني فسكرى

    بك لا بالخندريس
