سأسعف قلبي في الهوى بعذابه

وأترك ذكري خالداً بذهابه

I will comfort my heart in love with its torment

And leave my memory eternally with its departure

وأمنع لحظي أن يفوز من الكرى

بطيف خيال يقتضي سدّ بابه

And prevent my gaze from being able to win

An image that necessitates closing its door

فسر بي رعاك الله يا داعي الهوى

إلى منتهى وادي الأسى وسرابه

Explain me, may God shepherd you, O lover of passion

To the farthest point of the valley of sorrow and its mirage

وعرِّج على حيّ الغرام وحيه

وسله متى نحظى بوصل ترابه

And pass by the neighborhood of love and its people

And ask it when we will be blessed with the union of its dust

وروّح فؤادي من شمائل مبعدي

براح يهيم الصب قبل شرابه

And give respite to my heart from the attributes of my absent beloved

With a breeze that makes the young man swoon before drinking
